The Life Story Lab is directed by Dr. Susan Bluck. The multidisciplinary research team consists of graduate and undergraduate students interested in adult development, aging and autobiographical memory. The lab conducts research on people’s life stories to determine the role that autobiographical memory plays in: maintaining a sense of identity, creating relationships and social well-being, and directing future plans and goals. This includes investigation of the end of the story: research on narratives of death and dying and improving quality of life at the end of life, as well as death education initiatives.
